"People of America Join Hands"
by Cindy Hemming
People of America join hands,
Celebrate freedom.
After 250 years,
We’re still standing.
All have come,
For a life that’s free,
To a land of opportunity.
People of American join hands,
Celebrate freedom.
Many left their native land,
For a place their minds could be free,
To worship, to speak and to live without persecution.
Oh, what wonders meet our eyes,
Another land, another sky,
Land that reaches from sea to sea.
People of America join hands,
Celebrate freedom.
We formed a new dominion,
A land of liberty,
A world we own.
Where we are our own masters,
Happiness, in this land, that met our own views.
People of America join hands,
Celebrate freedom.
Celebrate all men and women,
For all the battles fought.
Many sacrificed, many died,
From near and far off lands,
To preserve our freedom.
This freedom prevailed in the end.
People of America join hands,
Celebrate freedom.
Stars have been added,
As our country unites.
Through all our battles and strife,
Let our flag wave forever,
May its lustrous stars never fade.
Let freedom ring.
People of America join hands,
Celebrate freedom!
