"To Be A Tree"
by Lynn O'Shaughnessy
Oh, what fun to be a tree,
To host the insects, bugs and bees,
That feed the birds who fly above,
So they can sing their songs of love,
To shade what ventures from below,
To look majestic in the snow,
To watch who does a happy dance,
When jumping ‘round from branch to branch,
To filter air and make it clean,
To beautify the urban scene,
To calm you when you’re drawn to me,
Oh, what fun to be a tree.
